The actual encoder pattern is checked against a known pattern.
Probable cause Suggested actions
1 Defective monochromator assembly.
• Re-ignite the lamp.
• Replace monochromator assembly.

1 Encoder was replaced and has a different
pattern or no reset of pattern was made.
Reset pattern via user interface and recalibrate.
2 Encoder lost position completely.
Replace monochromator assembly.
