a. Replace the A3 RF assembly.
b. For N5183A instruments, go to Chapter 4, "Post-Repair Procedures and Performance Verification".
Front Panel Hardkeys or Softkeys are Not Functioning (N5181A/82A/83A)
Verify individual key functionality by performing the Front Panel Key Test. Pressing each key should darken the location on the front panel
associated with that key.
Press: Utility > Instrument Info > Front Panel Tests > Key Test
• If intermittent operation occurs, replace the Key Pad assembly.
• If more than 50% of the keys do not cause the corresponding test area to change color, replace the A6 DC-AC Inverter Interface Board.
The RPG Knob is Not Functioning (N5181A/82A/83A)
Verify the RPG functionality by performing the front panel RPG test.
Press:
Utility > Instrument Info > Front Panel Tests > RPG Test
• Turning the RPG knob to the right should cause positive incremental changes; expected range +10.
• Turning the RPG knob to the left should cause negative incremental changes; expected range −10.
