dermatology condition for suitability of treatment with the system.
• Determine why the patient is seeking treatment and understand his/her expectations.
• Discuss the treatment regimen with the patient.
Counseling
During the first visit, the professional practitioner (or an authorized member of the staff) should inform the patient
of the following:
• Assess Condition and the desired treatment areas.
• Explain that acceptable results may require more than one treatment.
• Treatment may be associated with some discomfort.
• Transient erythema/edema may appear immediately following treatment.
Photography
It is recommended to document “before and after” photographs of the treatment area which provide objective
evidence.
Photographs should be taken before treatment and at one-month follow-up visit.
Standardized conditions (similar camera speed, flash and focal distance) should be used to photograph all patients.
This consistency enables an objective comparison of photos.
