C.8 Treatment
Practical Considerations of Operation and Technique
The treatment technique with the Colibri tip can only be carried out by "stationery" mode. This treatment
option includes plasma intensity selection.
Figure C-7 :Plasma intensity Panel
Note
The level of Skin Resurfacing output (Superficial vs Deep) depends on plasma
intensity, Tip Size, RF power and Pulse Duration. (See Colibri Recommended
Treatment Parameters table)
• Always perform a skin test prior to treatment.
• Do not treat on tender/injured.
• Do not treat over areas injected with Botox
®
or natural fillers up to four weeks post-injection.
• Prophylactic oral antiviral agents may be helpful for the prevention of Herpes Simplex Virus 1 (HSV-
1) reactivation. Recommended to begin prophylactic antiviral agents 24 hours prior to RF treatment.
Skin Test
In order to determine treatment parameters and patient comfort range, the physician should perform a skin test
on the intended treatment prior to the first treatment session according to the recommended treatment parameters
Down-time:
• In first treatment redness and sun burn feeling for a couple of hours or up to a few days if aggressive.
• Pale (conservative) to dark brown (aggressive) pixel pattern and leathery feeling on days 3-5 with
flaking.
• Edema may last up to 5 days.
• Full recovery is expected in 5-7 days.
Treatment Objectives
Follow recommended energy levels for skin perforation and ablation until satisfactory result obtained
