4-34 | Model 931S / Model 932S UV Analyzers
Measuring Cell (Oven) Temperature Control (Optional)
The Measuring Cell operating temperature is monitored (and controlled,
if the Measuring Cell is heated) and used to calculate the analyzer results.
For optional heated Measuring Cells, the (Measuring) Cell temperature
Setpoint parameter should be at least 5 °C above the dewpoint tempera-
ture of the sample gas. If the Measuring Cell is unheated, the setpoint will
be 0 °C. In this case, the ambient temperature should be at least 5 °C above
the sample dewpoint temperature.
The Cell Too Hot setpoint should be 5 °C to 10 °C above the Cell Setpoint
temperature. The Cell Too Cold setpoint should be 5 °C to 10 °C below the
Cell Setpoint temperature.
The (Measuring) Cell temperature setpoints are factory-set, based on
ambient temperature data specific to the application and location.
If the Measuring Cell temperature falls below its Too Cold Setpoint or
exceeds its Too Hot Setpoint, the “w: Cell temperature out of range” alarm
will be triggered and displayed in the software. The alarm can be either
a Fault or Warning alarm, depending on whether the analyzer is control-
ling the Measuring Cell. If the analyzer is controlling the Measuring Cell
(analyzers with a heated Measuring Cell), the “f: Cell temperature out of
range” alarm will be triggered and displayed in the software. If the ana-
lyzer is not controlling the Measuring Cell (analyzers with an unheated
Measuring Cell), the “w: Cell temperature out of range” alarm will be trig-
gered and displayed in the software.
The Measuring Cell temperature control is protected by an independent
over-temperature circuit, with a trip temperature of 170 °C. The default
Measuring Cell temperature Setpoint is factory-set, and is dependent
upon the stream temperature. Confirm the Cell/Oven Setpoint for your
system on the “Analyzer Programming Parameters” sheet (part of the ana-
lyzer Documentation Package).
