Host Controller Board Alarm Conditions and
Corrective Action
This section lists valid alarms (errors) that originate from the Host
Controller board, the Bit and Decimal Value for each Alarm Type (Fault
or Warning), descriptions of the alarms, and suggested corrective actions.
The letter ‘f’ preceding the alarm condition indicates it is a Fault, while ‘w’
indicates it is a Warning.
Host Controller alarms are displayed automatically by the Configurator
Software under HC Scode in the Status tab (Figure 6-13). If no alarm con-
dition exists, nothing is displayed.

Bit Value Type Alarm Condition / Description and Suggested Corrective Action
0 1 Warning w: EEPROM full
The EEPROM (nonvolatile memory) has exceeded the safe number of times that
conguration data has been rewritten to it (95 % used).
Corrective Action:
• Replace the EEPROM as soon as possible. Contact AMETEK to verify
operation before removing the EEPROM and for information about installing
the new EEPROM to ensure your analyzer will operate the same as it did prior
to replacing the EEPROM.
1 2 Warning w: Analog output range
One or more of the output channels exceeds its normal operating full-scale range
by more than 5 %.
Corrective Action:
• From the Output Setup dialog box, ensure the High Scale ranges are correct
for the current sample. If this Warning persists during normal operation, contact
AMETEK. If necessary, adjust the range and recalibrate the analyzer. See
“Analog Output Calibration” in Chapter 5.
