Floppy
Disks

Disks
You
can
repair
a UNIX PC
floppy
disk
that
has
a
damaged
file
system
by
using
the
Floppy
Disk
Repair
function.
Use
this
selection
if
you
display
the
contents
of
a
floppy
disk
and
receive
the
message:
The
previous
operation
on
this
floppy
disk
was
incomplete.
If
you
receive
this
message,
close
the
display
window
and
make
sure
you
have
inserted
a UNIX PC
floppy
disk.
~
function
is
used
only
for
floppy
djsks
that
have
damage
to
the
files
contained
on
the
disks;
it
is
not
for
floppy
disks
that
have
been
physically
damaged.
Floppy
disks
that
have
been
physically
damaged
should
be
thrown
away.
If
a
floppy
disk's
file
system
is
damaged,
you
may
lose
some
files
when
it
is
repaired.
However,
if
you
do
~
repair
a
damaged
file
system,
and
then
you
add
or
remove
any
files
from
the
floppy
disk,
you
will
probably
lose
more
data.
Repairing
a
damaged
file
system
helps
prevent
future
loss
of
data.
This
function
also
works
only
for
floppy
disks
formatted
for
use
with
the
UNIX
PC.
It
does
not
work
for
MS-DOS-
formatted
floppy
disks,
nor
does
it
work
for
Backup
floppy
disks.
To
repair
a UNIX PC
floppy
disk:

the
Office
window.

<Enter>.
The
Floppydisk
menu
is
displayed.

to
IFloppy
Disk
Repair

and
press
<Enter>.
A
Confirm
window
requests
that
you
insert
the
damaged
floppy
disk.

Insert
the
UNIX PC
floppy
disk
you
want
to
repair
and
press
<Enter>.
You
see
the
message:
Floppy
disk
files
are
being
checked.
Please
Stand
by
...
After
the
floppy
disk
file
system
is
repaired,
you
see
the
Floppydisk
menu
again.

to
return
to
the
Office.
