Maintaining the UNIX PC
This chapter shows you how to perform tasks associated
with regular maintenance of the UNIX PC. Procedures in
this chapter show you how to:
o Display system information
o Back up your files from the hard disk
o Restore your files to the hard disk
o Use the Diagnostics floppy disk
Displaying System Information
System information such as your system name, software
version number, amount of available disk space,
hardware setup information, date of last backup, and
the users logged into the system is displayed in the
System Information window. You may find this window
handy for a quick look at system status before you
update the system.
The System Information window is available from the
Administration menu of any user login.
To display system information:
1 Point to I Administration I in the Office of
any user name.
2 Press <Enter>.
The Administration menu appears.
