6. Place a tube with 2 mL of 0.22 µm filtered, DI water on the SIP and run for one
minute.
Check the cytometer periodically to ensure there are no fluid leaks or crimped lines.
1. Turn off the cytometer.
2. Open the top cover.
3. Visually inspect for fluid leaks by looking for small pools of liquid near any of the
visible luer lock connections.
4. Visually inspect for dried residue or slight discoloration of the metal fluidics tray
plate, making sure to look under the glovebox and under the cytometer.
5. If any evidence of a leak is seen, contact Accuri Technical Support immediately.
Do not attempt to repair the instrument.
Any evidence of fluid coming from, or near, a red or clear line should be considered a
biological hazard. Do not attempt to clean up the fluid without gloves and other safety
attire. Dispose of all cleaning materials as if biologically contaminated.
Replace the in-line sheath filter (PN 653148) every two months. If the cytometer is
used daily for more than a few hours, replace the filter monthly. Wear appropriate
safety attire such as protective gloves and eyewear when performing this procedure.
1. Turn off and unplug the cytometer.
2. Gently lift the cytometer cover.
3. Remove the plastic storage compartment.
4. Twist the luer locks on the in-line sheath filter to disconnect the locks.
5. Discard the filter according to standard laboratory protocols and regulations.

6. Install a new in-line sheath filter (PN 653148). This filter has a male and female
end to ensure that it can only be installed in the correct orientation.
7. Replace the storage compartment.
