LONG STITCH
Tips:
Adjust the straight stitch length to 5 mm or 6 mm on the
B 880 PLUS and 790 PLUS, 770 QE PLUS, 770 QE, 590,
and 570 QE models; engage the Long Stitch function for
the longest straight stitch, about 1¼” long.
Use the Long Stitch function with a triple straight stitch
for a beautiful saddle stitch for topstitching.
Wool-like fabric or Heavy flannel, 6” x 7

Engaging/Disengaging Long Stitch Function
NOTE: All other models, follow the instructions be-
low, but use a straight stitch with stitch length of
6.
1. Optional: Finish one 6” edge of the fabric with a
zigzag stitch, the Vari-Overlock Stitch, or an overlock
machine.
2. Fold a 2” hem to the wrong side of the fabric and
press.
3. Select the straight stitch. Touch clr to clear any previous
changes to the stitch.
If using Long Stitch, select the "i" menu and touch
the Long Stitch icon.
On models without Long Stitch, increase the stitch
length to 6 mm.
4. Baste the hem in place, sewing about 3/4” from the
nished edge of the hem (if done in Step 1).
5. Press clr to return to a standard straight stitch.
6. Close the “i” screen.
