Adjust the Splitter Flow Rate
Adjust the Splitter Flow Rate
The flow rate should be adjusted to 0.5–1.0 mL/min using the splitter
knob.
To measure the flow rate:
1 Prime the Isolera system with a solvent or solvent mix suitable for
the next purification. Ensure that no air bubbles are visible in the
tubing. For prime instructions, see the Isolera™ User Manual.
2 Disconnect the PEEK capillary tube from the eluent inlet, at the
front of ELSD-A120, and insert it into a measuring cylinder.
3 Prime the Isolera system with 100 mL of the same solvent (mix)
used in step 1 above at a flow rate of 50 mL/min. Select Without
Cartridge as the prime path. Ensure that the cartridge’s inlet and
outlet tubes are coupled together as the prime is to be performed
without a cartridge. Ensure that the waste reservoir has sufficient
capacity for the prime. For more information, see the Isolera™
User Manual.
4 Measure the solvent collected in the cylinder. If more or less than
1.5 ± 0.5 mL has been collected, adjust the splitter using the knob
and retry.
