Troubleshooting
If a problem is encountered, Biotage advises that the troubleshooting
section should be followed first to resolve the problem. If there is an
error or fault and you follow the recommended course of action and
the result is not satisfactory, then please direct the matter to Biotage
or your local distributor.
Malfunctions within the detector can arise from three general sources:
• The detector itself can be dirty or operating outside specification.
• The Isolera system (Isolera One or Isolera Four) can have a broken,
dirty, or non-optimally operating component, but the problem is
manifesting itself in the detector.
• A mobile phase and/or cartridge problem, which by its very nature
is spread throughout the Isolera system but appears as a
malfunction of the detector.
To troubleshoot ELSD-A120, you must be able to separate the
performance of ELSD-A120 within the Isolera system from its
performance outside the Isolera system. See “Error Messages” on
page 55 for possible cause and suggested solution.
