6 Troubleshooting and Diagnostics
General Problems
Detector Fails to Zero
No Power
No Response (Completely Flat Baseline)
Probable cause Suggested actions
1 Offset too high or output unstable
due to impurity in the mobile
phase
Stop the pump flow and switch off
the detector. Restart the detector
and auto-zero without liquid
flowing
Please contact your Biotage
service representative
Optical section contaminated and
requires cleaning
Probable cause Suggested actions
1 Mains lead not connected Attach the mains lead to the socket
and the inlet on the rear of the
detector
2 Fuse failure Replace fuse
3 Power supply failure Please contact your Biotage service
representative
Probable cause Suggested actions
1 Data acquisition leads not
connected
Ensure that the connectors to the
Isolera system are sound
2 Light source inactive Check that LED intensity is 100 %
Check that the LED is functioning
correctly, by stopping solvent
flow, cycling the power, and then
reading the offset value in RUN
mode
3 Output below 0 mV Stop the pump flow and auto-zero
without liquid flowing
