14.3 Calibrang the Smart Reg
If the Smart Reg is not causing the Nomad to pump normally, it may need calibraon. If you believe that
your Smart Reg may need calibraon, refer to diveblu3.com/support for help.
Only proceed with the Pump Body leak check aer the Air Hose is conrmed to be in good condion.
Only proceed with the Snorkel Tube leak check aer the Air Hose and Pump Body are conrmed to be in good
condion.
14.4 Idenfying Leaks
If water is coming from the airway within intended use condions, there may be a leak in a component of
Nomad. Idenfying leaks is a process of eliminaon that will need to be completed in steps. Follow the steps in the
order below to idenfy the locaon of the leak.
14.4.1 Air Hose Leak Check
1. Follow the instruconal steps 2-11 in Secon 13.4 on Page 45 to check for pre-exisng water inside of Nomad.
2. Place Nomad on a at surface out of the water and away from other objects.
3. Place only the Air Hose underwater. .
4. With Nomad’s Air Hose submerged press the Purge Buon for 10 seconds and look for air bubbles
coming from the Air Hose.
5. Pause for 50 seconds while keeping Nomad’s Air Hose submerged.
6. Repeat step 3 and 4 as many mes as necessary.
7. Repeat the instruconal steps 2-11 in Secon 13.4 on Page 45 to check for water inside of Nomad.
8. If water is found coming from Nomad, it is likely that the Air Hose is damaged. Do NOT operate Nomad
and refer to diveblu3.com/support to have your Nomad serviced.
14.4.2 Pump Body Leak Check
14.4.3 Snorkel Tube Leak Check
1. Follow the instruconal steps 2-11 in Secon 13.4 on Page 45 to check for pre-exisng water inside Nomad.
2. Place Nomad in the water and keep the top of the Flotaon Shell above the water so that the seal between
the Air Intake and the Snorkel Tube is not submerged at all.
3. With Nomad’s Air Intake above the surface of the water, press the Purge Buon for 10 seconds.
4. Pause for 10 seconds, while keeping Nomad’s Air Intake above water.
5. Repeat step 3 and 4 as many mes as necessary.
6. Repeat the instruconal steps 2-11 in Secon 13.4 on Page 45 to check for water inside of Nomad.
7. If water is observed coming from Nomad, it is likely a leak in a component on the Pump Body. Do NOT
operate Nomad and refer to diveblu3.com/support to have your Nomad serviced.
1. Follow the instruconal steps 2-11 in Secon 13.4 on Page 45 to check for pre-exisng water inside of Nomad.
2. Verify the Snorkel Tube is in place and properly seated at the Air Intake.
3. Place Nomad in the water and push the top of the Flotaon Foam underwater so that the seal between the
Air Intake and the Snorkel Tube is completely submerged.
4. With Nomad’s Air Intake sll submerged, press the Purge Buon for 10 seconds.
5. Pause for 10 seconds, while keeping Nomad’s Air Intake submerged.
6. Repeat step 3 and 4 as many mes as necessary.
7. Repeat the instruconal steps 2-11 in Secon 13.4 on Page 45 to check for water inside of Nomad.
8. If water is observed coming from Nomad, it is likely a leak in the Snorkel Tube O-rings or Snorkel Tube itself.
Do NOT operate Nomad and refer to diveblu3.com/support for instrucons to resolve the leak.
