When using the RIGHT hand Miter Gauge Slot 69,
hold the workpiece with your right hand and grip
the Miter Gauge Lock Knob 109 with your left hand.
Bevel Crosscutting

Bevel crosscutting is the same as crosscutting, ex-
cept that the wood is also cut at a bevel angle other
than 90° with the flat side of the wood.
1. Adjust the Blade to the desired angle.
2. Use the Miter Gauge 14 in the Miter Gauge Slot
69 to the RIGHT of the Blade 31.
Compound Miter Cutting
Compound miter cutting is a combination of miter
cutting and bevel crosscutting. The cut is made at
an angle other than 90° to both the edge and the
flat side of the wood.
Adjust the Miter Gauge 14 and the Blade 31 to the
desired angle and make sure the Miter Gauge 14 is
locked.
Basic Table Saw Operations
es the idle Blade 31. (Blade 31 is set 1/8 inch
(3.2mm) higher than workpiece.)
NOTE: The workpiece MUST be off the Facing
Block 102 BEFORE it contacts the Blade 31.
Crosscutting Capacity 103 for these cuts is
6-1/4″ (159 mm) with a 3/4″ (19 mm) work-
piece or 5-1/2″ (140 mm) with a 1-1/2″ (38 mm)
workpiece. If the “dry run” is successful, go to
the next step.
5. Attach saw to power source, turn the saw on,
and make the cut. Turn the saw off.
6. After the Blade 31 has stopped remove the Cut-
off Piece 104 before cutting the next piece.
Miter Cutting
(Fig. 83)
Miter cutting is cutting wood at an angle other than
90° with the edge of the wood. Follow the same
procedure as you would for crosscutting.
Adjust the Miter Gauge 14 to the desired angle, and
lock it. (See “Adjusting the Miter Angle” on page
50.)
The Miter Gauge 14 may be used in either of the
Miter Gauge Slots 69 in the Table.
When using the Miter Gauge 14 in the LEFT hand
Miter Gauge Slot 69, hold the workpiece rmly
against the body of the Miter Gauge 14 with your
left hand, and grip the Miter Gauge Lock Knob 109
with your right hand.
