11.5.6 Power supply connection to system controller
The multifunction power supply has one 24VDC output to supply power to a PRAESENSA
system controller or to power an auxiliary device like an Ethernet switch. The output has dual
A/B connectors for connection and cable redundancy. This is especially useful when the
system controller and the power supply are not in the same rack and the power supply cable
is accessible or vulnerable. It is recommended to always use both connections.
Connection procedure:
1. The power supply interconnection wiring and ferrules are delivered with the system
controller. The power supply terminal plugs (D) are delivered with the multifunction
power supply.
2. Follow the power supply cable assembly instructions as provided for the system
controller.
– Observe polarity.
3. Insert the power supply terminal plugs (D) of the interconnection cables into the A/B
sockets of the 24VDC output.
– It is good practice to connect output A of the power supply to input A of the
amplifier and the same for B. Cross coupling is allowed, but may be confusing in
case of fault finding.
