7.1 EMC Filter
7.1.1 The Function of EMC Filter
EMC filters are used to reduce radio interference and mains pollution.
● Fe has no optional internal EMC filter, external EMC filter is needed to
reach EMC class C3.
● Fv has an optional internal EMC filter, if higher EMC property needs to
be realized, please use external EMC filter.
7.2 Brake Components
7.2.1 Brake Chopper
The function of brake chopper
A brake chopper is used to dissipate the energy produced by the motor during a brak‐
ing process, resulting in an increased braking capability and faster deceleration of the
load without over voltage trips.
Internal brake chopper
Frequency Converters up to 15 kW have internal brake choppers. Only external braking
resistors are needed to activate the braking function. The working principle of the inter‐
nal brake chopper is shown as below:
