18.1 Testing instructions (SOP)

18.2 Leak test of the PD tip
a. Insert a new PD tip.

The PD-Tip is recognized automatically or, in the case of compatible dispenser tips, select the
volume size.
b. Change the volume to be dispensed.
c. Fill the PD-Tip.
d. Immerse the PD-Tip into the test liquid. Aspirate liquid at a steady rate. Hold the device down
vertically for approx. 10 s: If a drop forms, then follow the instructions in the following table.

19 Calibration
If the leak test (see Monitoring volumes,p.99) has been successfully completed, a gravimetric mea-
surement can determine if the device is within the limits defined by ISO 8655. The test method re-
quired for this is described in the testing instructions (SOP).
