1.PoppetSpeedTooHigh
Checkthattheinletairpressureiswithinthevaluesspecifiedin"Specifications"ofthesystem
manualbeforemakinganyadjustmentstothespeedcontrolvalves.Adjustthespeedofthepoppet
afterverifyingthepressureiswithintherangespecified.
2.RoughPoppetMotion
Onecauseofroughpoppetmotionistheuseofalubricatedairsupply.Smallparticlesofoil,when
passingthroughtherestrictionvalves,momentarilyrestricttheairflowandcauseajerkymotion.
Afterswitchingtoadryairsupply,theunitshouldberunthrough10to20up/downcyclestoclear
theoilfromthesystem.
3.LeakyPoppetO-Ring
Referto"MaintenanceandRepair"onpage23ofthismanualandthesystemmanualforlido-ring
cleaningandreplacementinformation.
4.ControlBoardProblems
Verifythatallconnectionstothecontrolboardaresecureandthatthedaughterboardisproperly
seatedonthecontrolboard.
5.OtherCausesforInoperativeGasValves
Theoperationalchainforallgasvalvesisasfollows:
a. Thecontrolboardsendspowertoasolenoidoperatedvalvelocatedonapanelofthreevalvesonthe
oppositesideoftheunit.
b. Thesolenoidoperatedvalvepressurizesathinairlinewhichconnectstoapneumaticactuatorontop
ofthegasvalve.
c. Thepneumaticactuatoropensthegasvalve.
Whendiagnosingamalfunctioningvalve,thissequence,combinedwiththeelectricalschematics
andpneumaticdiagramssuppliedwiththismanualshouldallowthetroubleshootertoquicklylocate
adefectivecomponent.
6.CoolingWaterOutofSpecification
Verifythatboththeflowrateandtemperatureofthecoolingwateriswithintherangespecifiedin
"Specifications"ofthesystemmanual.
