Chapter 3 –Operation Overview
Preliminary
3.1 Preliminary
3.1.1 Environmental
Temperature
Measuring Amplifier Type 2525 may be used over a temperature range extending
from +5° to +40°C (+41 to 104°F) at a maximum humidity of 90% RH (non-condens-
ing at 40°C (104°F).
Electromagnetic Compatibility
The Type 2525 complies with U.S. FCC requirements for class B computing devices,
EN50081-1 (Emission), EN50082-2 (Immunity) and is CE certified.
3.1.2 Power Supply
The 2525 can safely be used over the voltage range shown in the specifications
(section 1.2). Power Cable AN0020 is provided to connect the mains supply to the
mains input socket on the rear panel of the 2525.
Mains Fuse Ratings
Ensure that the correct fuse is fitted into the fuse holder on the rear panel of the
amplifier:
● 90 – 140V: T630mA (slow-blow), Brüel&Kjær part VF0032
● 180 –264V: T315mA (slow-blow), Brüel&Kjær part VF0042
3.1.3 Installing and Removing Fuses
The fuses for the 2525 are contained in the fuse cartridge on the rear panel of the
amplifier just above the Power On/Off switch. If you need to replace a damaged
fuse, or if you need to change the mains voltage, you must remove the cartridge
and replace the fuse(s) as follows:
1. With your thumb or forefinger, press the cartridge fin in towards the cartridge
and pull out. The cartridge should slip easily out of the amplifier’s rear panel.
2. Pull each fuse out and replace with a fuse with the required current specifica-
tion (see section 3.1.2).
3. If you are changing the main voltage rating, remove (pull out) the grey fuse
socket on the cartridge.
4. Re-insert the socket so that the correct mains voltage appears in the window of
the cartridge that normally faces out from the rear panel of the amplifier.
