er’s output.
Note: If you choose the latter solution (that is, with Input Type option “Charge
Floating” selected), always ensure that the test structure and input grounds (under
the TNC socket) are connected. Otherwise, the Input Type option “Charge Single-
end” mode should be selected (see Fig.3.2 ).
3.2 Set-up and Measurement
3.2.1 Introduction
The Measuring Amplifier Type 2525 can be operated either manually by pressing
the buttons (called pushkeys) on the front panel, or via one of the interfaces (IEEE–
488 or serial). Using the 2525 via interface commands is the subject of Volume 2 of
this manual and will not be discussed further here.
Manual operation of the 2525 can be broken into two parts:
● Set-up
● Measurement
Both the set-up and measurement portions of the amplifier’s operation are control-
led by a set of six pushkeys and a series of menus which are accessed using the
pushkeys.
The measurement parameters which are specified during set-up are immediately
sent to the analog portion of the amplifier minimizing possible problems in connec-
tion with filter settling times. During set-up the screen will always reflect the
changes which have been brought about by the parameter specification.
