Local Area Network (LAN) Connection and Setup
NOTE: LAN functionality can be confirmed by the presence of the LAN icon in the Settings menu.
The ELI 280 must be configured for LAN transmission by the facility Information Technology (IT) professional:
1. Connect the ethernet cable from the facility’s local area network to the LAN connection at the rear of the
ELI 280.
CAUTION: Possible damage to the electrocardiograph may occur if a telephone cable is
connected to the LAN connector.
2. Select from the real-time display.
3. Select Advanced.
4. Select LAN.
5. Addresses are always entered as 4 sets of 3 digits therefore an address of 192.168.0.7 must be entered on
the ELI 280 as 192.168.000.007.
a. LAN/WLAN settings may be password protected when printing the configuration. If the
password is entered, users will be able to view these settings on the screen; however, all printouts
will print “****” instead of the actual values.
6. Select Done.
Ethernet Transmission Status Indicator LEDs
The operator can monitor LAN interface connection and data transmission by observing the LEDs (Light Emitting
Diodes) located at the system’s external connector. The LEDs can be viewed from the outside (rear) of the ELI 280.
