Ares features auscultation of normal and abnormal bowel sounds using the StethoSym.
Genitourinary System
The manikin is provided with both male and female genitalia. Urinary catheterization (without fluids)
may be performed on the manikin. For more information on changing genitalia, see the Using Ares
section of this user guide.
Reproductive System
The Ares manikin features optional accessories for practicing clinical care skills.
Medication Administration
The Ares manikin features Medication Administration capabilities for practicing emergency care skills.
The manikin supports unilateral intravenous access at the antecubital fossa and dorsum of the
hand sites on the left arm. Fluids and medications can be administered, and blood can be drawn
via syringe or with the vacuum sealed blood collection system.
Performing CPR on the manikin provides realistic chest compression depth and resistance.
Software metrics detect hand placement, rate and depth of compressions, recoil, ventilations, and
ventilation:compression ratio.

Unilateral IV cannulation at antecubital and dorsum of hand.
Unilateral (humeral) IO access.
Ultrasound training module insertion for venous and arterial cannulation (optional).
In addition to the IV sites in the right arm, the manikin also supports four intramuscular sites:
bilateral vastus lateralis and bilateral deltoids.
