Add To add a Routing Entry, enter the IP Address and Netmask of the Destination Network and the IP Address and
RF MAC Address of the Gateway for the Routing Entry to be added, and then click Add. See Note below.
Delete To remove an entry from the Routing Table, enter the IP Address and Netmask of the Destination Network
and the IP Address and RF MAC Address of the Gateway shown in the table above, and then click Delete. See Note
below.
Note: If you Add or Delete routing entries in the Routing Table, a reset of the Viper is required before the routing table
change will take effect, as indicated by the yellow alert symbol ( ).
4.5.2. NAT
NAT (Network Address Translation) is the second (middle) tab of the Router page. To navigate to this tab, select Router
from the main menu and click NAT. From this tab, you can enable or disable Network Address Translation, maintain a
Private Network Table for NAT and NAT Port Forwarding Table.
NAT technology is a method by which IP addresses are mapped from one address space to another. In Viper, it is
normally used on the WAN side of an IP network to hide local IP addresses from an external IP network (that is, the
Internet). On Viper units, the user can select which one of the two interfaces (Ethernet or RF) will be considered
private.
