Solution(s): Confirm that the power is ON for both the computer and the instrument.
Check the serial port selection in the BBRw Setup menu using the following procedure:
1. Choose Setup from the BBRw Main Menu and click on Instrument Setup.
2. Select the Port tab from the property sheet.
3. Check the list box setting for the communication port and verify that the serial connection at the
back of the computer matches the setting indicated.
4. Change settings if necessary and save changes by clicking OK from the Port dialog box.
5. Check the RS-232 cable connections and confirm that they are secure.

2. Select the Port tab from the property sheet.
3. Choose NONE from the COM Port list box.
4. Click OK.
5. Click on the Windows Start button and select Programs/Accessories/Terminal (or
HyperTerminal). Other terminal programs, such as TerraTirm can be used as well.
6. Select the Terminal (HyperTerminal) application icon.
7. Select Properties from the Terminal (HyperTerminal) File menu.
8. Scroll through the tab options until you locate the Configure option.
9. Click on Configure and change the port settings to the following:
a. 9600 Baud
