COOLING SYSTEM: DIESEL ENGINES
Each propulsion engine has a closed cooling system that removes heat from the engine and the exhaust system. Closed
systems use a freshwater/anti-freeze mixture to cool the engine. The coolant mixture runs through a heat exchanger that
transfers the heat to seawater taken in through a seacock for each engine.
