Fan/alternatorbelttension
1.Movethemachinetoalevelandrmground.
2.MakesurethattheFNRleverisinneutralposition.
3.Engagetheparkingbrake.
4.Stoptheengineandremovethekey.
5.Waituntiltheenginereachesambienttemperaturebe-
foreperforminganymaintenanceactivity.
6.InspecttheV-beltoverthewholelengthfordamageor
cracks.ReplacedamagedorcrackedV-belt.
NOTE:Wherevertwobeltsareapplicable,changethe
beltsinpaironly.

7.Checkbypressingmidwaybetweenthepulleys(A)
(spanbetweenalternatorandfanpulley)andmeasure
thefanbeltdeectioninwards.Thefanbeltdeection
shouldbe10.0–15.0mm(0.4–0.6in).
8.T oadjustthebelt,rstloosenthebolt(3).Totighten
thebelt(1),screwout(i.e.rotateanti-clockwise)the
nuts(2).Toloosenthebelt(1)screwin(i.e.rotate
clockwise)thenuts(2).
NOTE:Screwinorscrewoutbothnuts(2)equallyduring
beltadjustment.
9.Afteradjustingthebelt,tightenthebolt(3)to
90–100N·m

thebelt.Slidethealternatortowardtheengineto
loosenthebelt.
