Checkthebelttensionevery10horeveryday.
NOTICE:Operatingtheenginewithloosenedbeltmaycauseoverheatoftheengineorinsufcientchargingofthe
batteryduetoslippingbeltinitshousing.
Inspectionoftension
1.Applyngerpressureofabout10kg(22.0lb)atthe
midpointofthebelt,betweenthealternatorpulleyand
thecrankshaftpulley,whiletheengineisshutdownand
thestarterkeyisremoved.
2.Beltdeectionshouldbeabout7–9mm(0.3–0.4in).
NOTE:checkanyindicationofdamageonthepulleyorbelt
duetowear.Checkthoroughlytomakesurethatthebelt
iscorrectlyengagedtogrooveofthepulley.Thebeltmust
bereplacedifitiselongated,ithascracksoritiswornout.

Adjustmentoftension
1.Loosentheadjustingbolt(1)andthemountingbolt(2).
2.Rotatethealternator(3)toobtainthecorrectvalueof
tension.
3.Tightenthemountingbolt(2)andtheadjustingbolt(1).

Replacementofbelt
1.Loosentheadjustingbolt(1)andthemountingbolt(2).
2.Lightlytightentheadjustingbolt(1)untilitsseatingface
touches.
3.Removethebelt(4)fromthepulleystopullitoutfrom
theradiatorfan(5).
4.Insertthenewbeltfromtheradiatorfan(5)tomount
itbyaligningittogrooveofeachpulley.Rotatethe
alternator(3)toobtainthecorrectvalueoftension.
5.Tightentheadjustingbolt(1)andthemountingbolt(2).
6.Afteradjustment,runtheengineinidlingspeedfor
approximately5min,andthenstoptheengineto
re-checktensionofthebelt.
