Coupler - Assemble (A.12.A.05 - F.10.A.20)
435, 445, 445CT
1. Install a new backup washer and a new seal on the
new inner sleeve. Lubricate the seal and the backup
washer with clean hydraulic oil.
2. Apply Loctite 271 to the threads on the new valve.
Install the new valve, the new inner sleeve, and the
spring in the
tting.
3. Install the cap screw to fasten the valve to the tting.
Tightenthecapscrewtoatorqueof7.9-9.0Nm
(70 - 80 lb in).
4. Install the coupler repair tool into the coupler body.
Fastentheassemblyinavisesothatthecoupler
repair tool is held by the vise jaws.
5. Make sure that the outer sleeve and spring are
installed in the coupler body.
6. Apply Loct ite 271 to the external threads of the
tting.
Install the tting in the coupler body. Tighten
the tting to a torque of 61 - 68 Nm (45 - 50 lb ft).
7. Remove the coupler repair tool from the coupler
body.
8. Use the matchin g male coupler to tes t for correct
function.
9. Use c lean hydraulic oil to leak test the coupler
assembly to a pressure of 138 bar (2000 psi).
IMPORTANT: Do not get solvent on the new seal. Make
sure that the coupler body is completely dry before
installing the new sea l.
10. Fold the new s ea l into a heart shape and work
the seal into the groove. Do not use sharp tools.
After t he s ea l is installe d, use cle an hy d raulic oil to
lubricate the seal.
11. Use a screwdriver to push the poppet in all the way.
Remove the piece of soft wire. Release the poppet.
12. Use clean hydraulic oil to leak test the male coupler
toapressureof132 bar (2000 psi).
