Battery - Filling (A.30.A.83 - F.60.A.10)

1. Remove th e caps from t he battery.
2. Fill each cell to the top of the separators with
electrolyte. This will permit the v olu me of ele ctro lyte
to increase w
hen heated by charging the battery.
3. Install the caps on the battery.
4. Connect a battery charger to the battery.
5. Charge the battery at 30 amperes until the specific
gravity is 1.250 or more and the temperature of the
electrolyte is at least 15.5 °C (60 °F ) .
6. If neces
sary, fill each cell with electrolyte until th e
electrolyte is just below split ring at the bottom of
the cell opening.
