EZ Television (1Seg)
Terrestrial Digital TV Broadcasting
Terrestrial digital TV broadcasting (provides digitalized contents of the
existing analog TV broadcasting) was launched in Japan in December
2003.
Terrestrial digital TV broadcasting designed for cellphones or other
portable terminals is called “1Seg” service (not includes terrestrial
digital TV broadcasting service for household TV).
EZ Television (1Seg)
allows you to enjoy the “1Seg” service.
You can receive the terrestrial digital
TV broadcasts through a UHF antenna.
■ Before using a TV antenna
When you use EZ Television (1Seg), fully extend the TV antenna to get a signal.
※ To avoid damage, always extend it straight and check the direction of the antenna
tip so that it snaps into place properly.
◎You need to perform an initialization procedure before you can use EZ
Television (1Seg). If you have not performed initialization yet, refer to
“Initializing E-mail and EZweb” (page 24).
◎No packet communication or other communication fees are charged for
watching programs (EZ Television (1Seg) offer). However, you will be
charged for packet communication if you download an electronic
program guide (EPG) or use the song title search function (paid service).
◎No packet communication or other communication fees are charged for
watching data broadcasting programs. However, you will be charged for
packet communication if you use the interactive service provided by
data broadcasting programs or access to the information site on EZweb.
◎EZ Television (1Seg) is unavailable after canceling your W51CA service.
◎You are unable to start EZ Television (1Seg) when remaining battery level
indicated as
or .
◎When remaining battery level shows
during EZ Television (1Seg) is
active, a message (indicating the battery will be soon discharged)
appears, and automatically stop EZ Television (1Seg).
◎The continuous broadcasting time provided by W51CA is approximately 5
hours and 30 minutes.

However, it depends on the factors such as
frequent operations performed during data broadcasting programs.
※ The time mentioned above is measured under the following conditions:

The W51CA may fail to receive radio signals properly depending on the
location or radio wave receiving conditions. In this case, the quality of the
picture or the sound may be lower than usual or not available.
