Edge/Edge Blanket Operating Guidelines

Speed Control
If the unit is equipped with Chicago’s speed
interlock system, the speed setting can be changed
to automatic mode. When in automatic mode,
the unit will match any changes in speed that the
ironer makes.
Automatic Speed Operation
On the CHI Panel, press the CURSOR
key until the flashing cursor is under the
speed display.
Press the ENTER key. The CHI Panel
display changes to show the machine is
now operating in automatic mode.
Press the ENTER key again to switch back
to manual speed control.
Manual Speed Operation
NOTE: The maximum speed
setting for an Edge Blanket
Spreader/Feeder when used with
a Skyline Blanket folder is 125
FPM. Higher speeds will cause
jams at the first crossfold.
As a general rule, the spreader/feeder speed
should be slightly slower than the ironer’s speed,
usually by up to 5 fpm (1.5 mpm).
If the spreader/feeder is too fast, the flatwork
will bunch as it feeds into the ironer. If the speed
is set too slow, the flatwork will be excessively
stretched.
When the unit is operating in manual speed
mode, press the CURSOR key to move the
flashing cursor under the speed display.
As appropriate, press the SPEED
button
to increase speed or the SPEED button
to decrease speed.
