Power Specifications for the Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Switches

Power-supply redundancy mode—Allows y ou to replace a power supply during switch operations.

avail able from a ll but on e of t he pow er su pply un it s (N+1). Th e rese rve pow er i s th e am o un t of
power output by the power supply unit that can output the mo st power. For example, if three power
supply u ni ts o u tpu t 3 k W, 6 k W, an d 6 kW, the av ail able pow er i s 9 k W (3 kW + 6 k W ) an d th e
reserve pow e r is 6 k W.

power supply outputs 1.2 kW for the 1 10-V grid and 3.0 kW for the 220-V grid. The available power
wou ld be 3.6 k W (1.2 kW + 1.2 k W + 1.2 kW) a nd t he reserv e po we r w ou ld be 9.0 k W (3.0 kW +
3.0 kW + 3.0 k W ).

The amount of power available for use with your Cisco Nexus 7000 Series switch depends on the number
of power supply units, input voltage used, and the power mode used. To determine the amount of
available power for 6-kW AC power supply units, see Ta bl e A- 9. To determine the amount of power
available for 7.5-kW AC power supply units, see Table A-10. To determine the amount of power
available for the 6-kW DC power supply units, see Table A-11.
