Installing the Cab Doors
1) Loosen the aluminum grip plate (Figure # 37, Item # 1) from the drive belt to allow free
movement of the hangers.
2) Install the car doors using the same procedure described for the landing doors. See
section called, Installing the Landing Doors. There is no difference other than fire
retainers are not required on car doors.
NOTE
Take care with the alignment, especially the 1/4" clearance between the pass jamb and slow
door and the 1/4" clearance between the fast and slow doors.
3) While the landing doors use a sill closer to relate the doors, the car doors use a cable and
pulley system. To set this up, first loosen the two (2) bolts that hold the cable clamp
(Figure # 42, Item # 18) to allow the cable to slide through.
4) Push both doors to the fully open position with the leading edges flush. They should be
3/4" (19 mm) past the edge of the cab pass jamb. Re-tighten the cable clamp.
5) Push both doors to the fully closed position. Loosen the rubber bumper adjustment bolt
(grommet isolator) (Figure # 42, Item # 64) at the top right of the operator backplate and
move it away from the door drive arm (Item # 34). Allow the door to close against the
track end stop bolt (Item # 40) and then bring them back about 1/8".
6) Move the rubber bumper adjustment bolt until it touches the door drive arm and tighten it.
NOTE
There should be 1/8" clearance between the track end stop bolt and the door drive arm and
1/4" between the fast and slow door hangers.
7) To adjust the height of the car gate switch roller arm (Figure # 42, Item # 46), remove the
cover of the switch (Item # 23) to expose the contact. Loosen the two (2) bolts holding the
arm and raise the roller arm until it almost touches the back of the contact arm.
NOTE
Proper setup ensures that the contact arm cannot allow the contact to close when the roller is
under the rear of the contact arm.
There are two (2) other switches on the door operator, one at either end. These switches tell
the controller when the doors are fully open or fully closed.
8) To set the door closed limit switch, adjust the cam (Figure # 42, Item # 33) so that the
switch closes when the door is about 1/2" (13 mm) from being fully closed.
9) Set the door open limit switch similarly.
