NOTE
Watch for the operator heat sink and operator card, DO NOT LIFT ON THIS SECTION!
2. Once the operator is clear of the frame, it may be placed on a flat surface with the limit
PC board facing up.
NOTE
The main PC board may rest on the flat surface. Place a book or other ‘shelf’ under the motor
plate to raise the PC board and allow the unit to sit stable for adding the spring.
3. Use extreme caution when handling the power spring.
a) Every operator has a sign on top indicating if it is a right-hand (RH) or left-hand (LH)
operator. This indicator references the handing of the door. See Figure # 54 for hand
referencing.
b) Ensure that the handing indicated on the operator matches the handing of the door.
THE OPERATOR IS QUITE HEAVY. ENSURE THAT
OU ARE SAFELY POSITIONED FOR ITS REMOVAL.
c) The operator can be ‘field changed’ to the opposite hand via the following procedure:
i) Remove all tension from the spring, if it is mounted on the operator.
ii) Remove the 3/8" bolt from the spring assembly where it bolts to the top
aluminum plate.
iii) Reverse (turn over) the spring, and re-attach the 3/8" bolt to the top plate.
Some repositioning of the spring may be required to get the bolt into place.
