3.1.2.2 CFD5000 FDS - an extension of CCP Fire
The CFD5000 FDS is a SIL classified sub-system that supports detector loops. It
also includes safety modules used to collect status from the detector loops to
supply SIL compliant interfaces to external systems. These interfaces reside on the
two modules, CS-Com M and CS-Safety M, that provide safety information to an
external system. CS-Safety M provides relay outputs for alarms, faults, and
disablements. CS-Com M provides an SDTv2 safety protocol via Ethernet.
Figure1. shows the CFD5000 FDS as a part of the CCP Fire system and describes
the internal interfaces and the system interfaces. The figure shows one example of
a system configuration.
CS-Safety M and CS-Com M are optional and there can be maximum two safety
modules coexisting in a system. The possible configurations of safety modules
depend on the installation and are as follows:
one of either CS-Safety M or CS-Com M
one of each type
a pair of either types

Internal interfaces to the CCP Fire
The interfaces between the CCP Fire and the CFD5000 FDS are:
A redundant power supply (2 * 28 VDC) used to feed the CFD5000 FDS
xFire, a hardcoded signal used to signal the fire condition.
Redundant communication (2 * RS-485), used to communicate between
CFD5000 FDS modules and CCP Fire modules
External interfaces of the CFD5000 FDS
A number of interfaces in CCP Fire have been omitted from Figure1. in order to
keep the focus on the interfaces supplied by the CFD5000 FDS:
