8 | SETTING THE SPROCKETS ON THE SHIMANO
8/9/10 SPEED – SRAM CASSETTE BODY
Your rear wheel is delivered with three washers (two in
0.6 mm and one in 1.2 mm). These washers may be neces-
sary to set up the sprockets in order to have the pinions held
correctly. If these washers are necessary, they must be positioned
before the sprockets are mounted.
The washers are not supplied with the Shimano 10 SP. and
Campagnolo 9/10/11 SP. cassette bodies because they are not necessary.
9-1 | HOW TO GLUE A TUBULAR TIRE ON A CARBON RIM ?
Use a standard glue intended for this purpose. Before applying the tubular tire glue, lightly sand with fine sand paper the
rim base without "scoring" the carbon, and clean off with a dry cloth and acetone to obtain a good adherence of the glue.
Apply a sufficient amount of glue to the tubular tire and the rim and respect the indications given by the glue manufac-
turer. Make sure to properly center the tubular tire on the rim. Use acetone to clean off any glue drippings from the rim.
Always make sure before you start riding your bike that your tubular tires are glued correctly.
9-2 | HOW TO REMOVE A TUBULAR TIRE FROM A CARBON RIM ?
To be removed, the tubular tire must be deflated.
With your hands pinch the tubular tire between your palms and fingers.
Remove the tubular tire with the thumbs.
If the gluing is quite resistant, look for an easier place on the rim to remove it. Then remove it all around the rim’s dia-
meter. Warning: make sure you do not tear off the inferior protection cloth of the tubular.
