You, as user, must pay attention to two phenomena, which can alter the rim’s geometry and more particularly its braking surface:
- avoid pressures in the tire that are superior to the ones recommended;
- avoid extensive and prolonged brakings that would put the rim under temperatures that would be over the ones indicated above.
The damages due to these two phenomena cannot be considered as manufacturing liabilities and cannot justify
an exchange of the wheel under warranty.
For comfort and performance, we recommend the setting of 23 mm clincher tires, 700C (28’’).
B | SPOKED WHEELS: AERO CC «CYCLO-CROSS»
• After using your wheels for the first time, check the wheels’ centering.
• After each ride, check the condition of your tubular tires, as well as the air pressure (There is no maximum air pressure for tubular
wheels except the one recommended by the manufacturer of the tubular tire you’re going to set in your wheels).
• Don’t mount tubular tires with too narrow sections because they may cause damages to your rim.
• Every 2000-3000 km, or more frequently in bad weather, lubricate your hub axle and grease the pawls of the cassette body
and the notched crown (see chapter 7). High speed grease for precision bearings and plain bearings (grease such as Kluber Isoflex
Super LDS18 type) to prevent from any type of oxidation, aging and corrosion. Don’t use oil which would dilute the grease of the
ball bearings. When setting the external blocking screws, use light locknut glue, the tightening torque must be 5Nm.
• All our hubs are built with annular bearings (see table “Bearings of CORIMA hubs”, chapter 12)
• Periodically check spokes’ tension and wheels’ centering. (see chapter 4). Warning ! Spoke tension must not exceed the tension
applied during mounting in the factory to avoid irremediably damaging your rim (see chapter 14).
• Only use specific CORIMA brake pads for braking on carbon rims.
• In case of a fall or a violent impact, you must have your wheel checked by our technicians.
Any violent impact can lead to damages which are often repairable by our composites after-sales department, but such repairs
will be billed to you.
WARNING! Cyclo-cross events take place on all types of path. Impacts, flat tires, stones or falls for example, may involve serious
damages on the wheel that cannot be considered as manufacturing defects and cannot justify an exchange free of charge under
warranty.
• To clean your wheel, don’t use any high-pressure water device, especially to clean the hub in which pressurized water may
penetrate and damage the bearings or components of your cassette body for the rear wheel.
Use a cloth to dry your wheel.
• Times and kilometer readings are given for guidelines and can change significantly according to usage conditions and the
intensity of your activity (example: competition, rain, salted roads, etc…).
• Regularly check the wearing status of your wheels and rims. You must not ride your wheels if you notice cracks on the rim and/or
the hub, if the wheel is broken, damaged or if the braking surface is irregular or worn.
• Regarding the wearing status of the rims, have a check performed each season in our workshops to ensure the best possible
control. CORIMA will check the wearing status and will inform you of the reliability of your rims.
C | RIMS
• Af
ter using your wheels for the first time, check the wheels’ centering.
• After each ride, check the condition of your tubular or clincher tires, as well as the tire pressure (maximum authorized
air pressure for clincher wheels : 8 bars -120psi).
• Don’t mount tubular or clincher tires with too narrow sections because they may cause damages to your rim.
• Periodically check spokes’ tension and wheels’ centering (chapter 4).
Spoke tension is adjusted from inside the rim (spoke nipple in reversed position) using the specific spoke wrench delivered
with your rim (not supplied with the AERO+ TUBELESS wheel and the WINIUM+ TUBELESS wheel).
