11. Disconnect the drive control rod from the trun-
nion arm of the hydro. See Figure 5.76.
12. Disconnect the spring at the end of the transmis-
sion release rod from the by-pass arm on the
transaxle. See Figure 5.77.
NOTE: The closed end of the spring hooks
downward into the rod.
13. Support the transaxle so that it can be lowered
out of the tractor in a controlled fashion.

14. Remove the torque bracket bolts using a 1/2”
wrench. See Figure 5.78.
15. Take the nuts off of the T-bolts that hold the tran-
saxle to the frame using a 1/2” wrench.
See Figure 5.79.
NOTE: At this point, the brake actuator spring is
still attached to the brake rod from the pedal
shaft, and the brake arm on the transaxle.
