1. Park the vehicle on level ground
and apply the parking brake rmly.
2. Stop the engine.
3. Open the hood and support it.
CHECKING STEERING RACK BOOTS AND BALL JOINT (W)
(1) Steering Rack Boot
4. Check the steering rack boots, to
see if torn or have a sign of leak-
age.
(1) Tie Rod End
5. Turn steering wheel fully to the
right and inspect the boots of the
tie rod end and nut, then turn
wheel fully to the left and inspect
boot of the tie rod end and nut.
6. If the above components should
be replaced, contact your Dealer.
The components related to
the steering operation direct-
ly affect your safety. If a condi-
tion of such components is in
doubt, contact your Dealer im-
mediately.
