1. Park the vehicle on level ground
and apply the parking brake rmly.
2. Stop the engine, open the hood
and support the hood.
CHECKING BRAKE FLUID (X)
(1) Brake Fluid Tank
(A) MAX Limit (B) MIN Limit
3. Clean the brake uid tank and its
surrounding thoroughly.
4. Check the brake uid level is be-
tween the MAX and MIN limits.
5. If the level is below or close to
the MIN limit, ll the tank with the
brake uid to the MAX limit.
6. If the brake uid is severely con
-
taminated or insufficient, contact
your Dealer.
CHECKING BRAKE PEDAL
FREE PLAY (Y)
The master cylinder rod of the vehi-
cle is adjusted so that the brake ped-
al free play is 0.59 ~ 0.79 in. (15 ~ 20
mm) at factory. If the free play of the
brake pedal should be adjusted, per-
form the following steps.
1. Park the vehicle on level ground
and apply the parking brake rmly.
2. Stop the engine, open the hood
and support the hood.
3. Measure the free play of the brake
pedal. According to the measure
-
ment, adjust the length of the mas-
ter cylinder rod(1).
