Power On the Printer
The first time you set up the printer, power on the printer without installing supplies, to release
transport mode. Keep the power on for about 30 seconds until a film search error displays on the
print unit front panel, and then power off the printer.
1. Power on the printer.
a. Open the security enclosure door, so you can see the print unit front panel.
b. Press the “|” symbol on the power switch to power on the printer.
2. Follow the instructions in the printer’s User’s Guide to load the ink ribbon and retransfer film
cartridges.
3. Install the ink ribbon cartridge in the printer. Do not install the retransfer film cartridge at this
time.
4. Close the print unit door.
Continue with “Clean the Print Unit” on page 22.
The printer is shipped in transport mode. Retransfer film cannot be installed while
the printer is in transport mode. Powering on the printer cancels transport mode.
