2.3 Ribbon Width Adjustment
If equipped with the thermal transfer option, the Ribbon Tension Adjustment Knob allows the optimum
amount tension to be applied to the ribbon, as follows:
1. Turn OFF the printer. Remove ribbon, if installed.
2. While holding the Hub, rotate the Ribbon Tension Adjustment Knob to match the ribbon width,
according on the table below.
Ribbon Width Direction of Rotation
1 - 2 inches (25 – 51 mm) Clockwise
2 - 4 inches (50 – 102 mm) Counterclockwise
3. Ensure that the Ribbon Tension Adjustment Knob is turned fully into position and will no longer
rotate.

Note: Never force or over-tighten the Ribbon Tension Adjustment Knob.
2.4 Printhead Adjustment
If necessary, print quality can be mechanically adjusted. Although factory set for optimum print
quality, some media types (for example, heavy card stock) may require a slight readjustment if
quality changes.
1. Load media. Print a batch of labels. (Simultaneously press F2 and F3, or send a format from the
host.)
