PCI Cards
If you are installing or replacing a PCI card, see Installing a PCI Card. If you are removing but not replacing a PCI card, see Removing a PCI Card.
If you are replacing a card, remove the current driver for the card from the operating system.
Installing a PCI Card
1. Follow the procedures in Before You Begin.
2. Remove the computer cover (see Removing the Computer Cover).
3. Gently push the release tab on the card retention door from the inside to pivot the door open. Because the door is captive, it will remain in the open
position.
NOTE: Dell offers a customer kit for Audigy II and IEEE 1394 PCI cards that includes a front-mounted IEEE 1394 connector. For more information about
connecting the card cable to the I/O panel, see I/O Panel.
