• The features of the motor's electric power supply do not correspond to those on the plate or the
chosen connection is inadequate.
• Check that the discharge pressure corresponds to the design value.
• The flow rate is too pulsating: it requires installation of the dampener diaphragm or the dampener
diaphragm installed is not adequate, due to size or pre-charge.
• Incorrect motor rotation direction, reverse the rotation by following the arrow.
The flow rate is below that desired:
• Incorrect pump flow rate adjustment: adjust the flow rate to the desired value and lock the
handwheel.
• Insufficient suction due to the excessive length of the pipe or excessively tight or even partly
obstructed pipe. We recommend replacing the piping with the higher cross-section or positioning
the pump under head and as close as possible to the suction source.
• The suction piping seal is not perfect (possible air infiltrations).
• The liquid viscosity is not compatible with the pump version or the filter is clogged.
The flow rate is above that desired:
• Siphoning phenomena occurs: check that the suction pressure is not higher than that of the
discharge pressure. Install a back pressure valve on the discharge circuit.
The flow rate is variable:
• The problem may be due to solid particles coming from the pipe or sediments in suspension which
prevent the perfect closure of the pump valves or presence of air or gas bubbles. Good cleaning
and the installation of a filter on the suction pipe is recommended.
14 - MAINTENANCE
Maintenance is a combination of all technical and administrative actions, including supervision, aimed at
maintaining or returning a machine to a condition in which it can perform the required function.
For maintenance of piston pump heads or diaphragm pump heads, refer to the head maintenance
chapter.
The high degree of finish of the internal components ensures correct operation with minimal maintenance.
In general, the following rules apply: periodic inspection of any lubricant leaks, especially in the areas of
the sealing rings. If it is required to top up the lubricant, use the same brand and type or in any case one
compatible with that in the pump.
Keep the pump in good working order, periodically checking noise, temperature, vibrations, absorption
and tension, wear of friction surfaces, lubricant leaks, gaskets, bolted joints that are not worn, deformed
or corroded, restoring them; keep the pump clean by removing dust and any processing residues (do not
use solvents or other products not compatible with the construction materials, and do not direct high-
pressure water jets directly onto the equipment).
14.1 – Pump maintenance, repairs
14.2 - Procedures for maintenance intervention
Before intervening on the dosing pump or on the piping, the necessary precautions must be taken so that
the pumped product, especially if harmful, does not endanger personnel or the surrounding elements.
before intervention, personnel must be sure that:
➢ The pump is stopped and disconnected from the electrical supply mains.
➢ The pump head and the system have been depressurised and emptied of any liquid.
➢ The pump has reached a temperature level where it can be moved safely.
➢ When taking apart heavy or large pieces, available lifting equipment must be suitable for the use.
Having ascertained such conditions, accurately clean the piping and the pump components.
