ASSEMBLY DIAGRAM
PUMP HEAD
N.B.: Carry out this procedure also once the work process has been completed and the pump must
remain stopped for a long period of time.
15.1.3 - Replacement of the "PTFE" gasket pack
After completing the depressurisation procedure, proceed as
follows:
Disconnect the pump head pos.1 from the system and
the lantern of the dosing pump.
Wash the pump head so that the operator is able to
handle components without any problems.
Loosen the ring nut pos.11 until it is completely
removed.
Check piston wear pos.2, if there are scratches or
scoring replacement is recommended. Loosen the grub
screws pos.15 to release the piston.
Extract the gasket pack pos.3, insert the new pack inside
the pump head paying attention to the orientation of the
gaskets.
Tighten the locking nut pos.11, until touching the gaskets.
Insert the pump head pos.1 on the piston pos.2, push it up to the lantern and fix it with the screws
pos.4.
15.1.4 - adjustment and compression of "PTFE" gaskets
To ensure hydraulic sealing after replacement, this type of
gasket requires a short run-in and settling period.
In case of gaskets replacement, carry out the procedure by
following the sequence below.
Connect the dosing pump, if possible by sucking in some
non-harmful clean liquid, tighten the ring nut by a quarter of a
turn to create light pressure on the gaskets.
Dripping will occur in the rear of the pump head.
Let the pump run 4/5 hours before performing the tightening
operation again.
After this period, repeat tightening by another quarter of a
turn.
Let the pump run 2 or 3 hours before executing the next
manoeuvre, checking that the dripping decreases.
This tightening and checking operation must be repeated
until dripping disappears.
Control and adjustment operations of the gasket pack must be carried out periodically. When
carrying out these operations, the operator must be careful not to tighten the ring nut too much,
in order to preserve the integrity of the gaskets.
15.1.5 - Intermediate maintenance
A constant and thorough check, in addition to preserving the pump, avoids unpleasant operating
problems that require special maintenance.
In the chapters below, the points most subject to maintenance operations are highlighted because they
are more stressed and subject to wear and tear.14.8.6 - Troubleshooting:
