4.3 Telnet Access
Once correctly configured, the Horizon Compact is accessible through a Telnet session using Super
User, NOC and Admin level user accounts. Refer to Appendix A for details of CLI commands. The
Horizon Compact system can be completely configured, tested and managed through a Telnet session.
The Telnet function is enabled by default but can be disabled within the Horizon Compact system.

Configuring Telnet Access
Required Action Steps
login Log in as the Super User.
get telnet access
Returns the status of Telnet access (on by default)
Sequence :
get telnet access press Enter
The system responds:
telnet access is [on/off]
set telnet access
Enables or disables Telnet access.
Sequence :
set telnet access [on/off] press Enter
The system responds:
telnet access is [on/off]
save mib
Saves the MIB to RAM. Perform this command to save configuration
changes to non-volatile memory.
Sequence:
save mib press Enter
The system responds:
MIB saved successfully.
