Shift Yokes and Rails
Disassembly
The speed shifting system of the EA(B)O-6X06 box has
gears positioning and interlocking devices located in the front
support of the shift yokes and rails assembly.
These devices are made of springs and balls actuating on
notches on the shift rails that once disassembled should be
reassembled very carefully to guarantee its proper functioning.
Identication of balls in the pictures (for identication of the
shift rails, see Exploded View in this manual):
1 - Diameter 5/16 in (7.9 mm), 5 balls
2 - Diameter 3/8 in (9.5 mm), 10 balls
1. Remove the two plugs, two springs and two balls from
the rails’ support.
NOTE: When removing the shift rails, be careful not to
drop and lose the balls that will come o from inside
the rails’ support.
2. Remove the 5th/6th gear shift rail and its respective ball.
