Anemia causes decreased arterial oxygen content.
Although SpO

anemic patient may be hypoxic. Correcting
anemia can improve arterial oxygen content. The
oximeter may fail to provide SpO

if hemoglobin
levels fall below 5 gm/dl.
Saturation
The oximeter displays saturation level between 1%
and 100%.
Pulse rate
The oximeter displays pulse rate between 30 and
254 beats per minute (bpm). The sensor accuracy
ranges do not apply to pulse rates above 254 bpm.
Data update period
The data update period is one second typically,
and 10 seconds in extreme conditions.
