5.2 Operation with the HART protocol.
The measuring device can be configured and measured values obtained by means of
the HART protocol. You have two options:
• Operation with the “HART Communicator DXR 275” universal handheld terminal.
• Operation by means of a personal computer using operating software (e.g. “Field-
Tool™”) and a HART modem (e.g. “Commubox FXA 191”).
5.2.1 HART Communicator DXR 275
Selecting device functions with a HART Communicator is a process involving a number
of menu levels and a special HART function matrix (see the “Description of Device Func-
tions” manual).
Note:
The HART manual in the carrying case of the HART DXR 275 handheld communicator
contains more detailed information on the device.
Procedure
1. Switching on the handheld communicator:
– Measuring device not yet connected
→ HART main menu appears → select
“Online” to continue
– Measuring device connected
→ “Online” menu level is displayed
2. “Online” menu level
– Display of current measured data such as flow, totalizer count, etc.
– Use “GROUP SELECTION” in the HART function matrix to select the function
group of your choice, for example “SYSTEM UNITS”, and then select the function,
for example “MASS”.
3. Enter a numerical value or make your selection from the options and press F4 =
Enter to confirm.
4. “SEND” appears above function key F2. All the values/settings entered with the
